NSSL to host German visitors

Four guests from the German Deutscher Wetterdien will be visiting NOAA Weather partners in Norman, Okla. April 27-April 29 to share research and identify areas for collaboration.

The guests include the Officer for Tornado Concerns, Head of the Central Development Unit, Radar Measures Project Leader, and the former head of Deutscher Wetterdien’s Radar Research and Development unit. During the visit they will be presenting their current work, including KONRAD, the German thunderstorm detection and warning system.

NSSL will give a research overview along with short presentations on dual-polarization technology, severe weather research, and the future vision of weather radar.
